Great opportunity: we are hiring a steam press operator in Boone County, Missouri. The job is at a garment factory. You should have: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine On the job you will handle: • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Give each garment a final press before packing Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
