Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Nottingham, England. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. You will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards 4+ years on the tools preferred.
