Great opportunity: we are hiring a rigger in Lincoln County, Kansas. The role involves: • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area Requirements: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
