Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • ITI in welder trade or equivalent On the job you will handle: • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
