Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Cortland County, New York. The job is at a busy iron foundry. You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings On a typical shift you will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity. At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
