Foundry labourer — Jefferson County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Jefferson County, Ohio. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. Your main tasks: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
