Shakeout operator — Miller County

Now hiring: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Miller County, Missouri. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings On a typical shift you will make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity.
