Great opportunity: we are hiring a semi-automatic welder in Faulkner County, Arkansas. You will be based at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. Ideal candidate: • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test Day-to-day duties: • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
