Argon welding operator — Jackson County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Jackson County, Kansas. You will work at a busy fabrication workshop. Requirements: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work On the job you will handle: • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time, day shift. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Pay around $2,500 per project, based on your experience. Contact us to fix an interview.
