Sample machinist wanted in Carroll County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sample machinist in Carroll County, Virginia. You will work in a sampling and tailoring workshop. You will set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching. Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams 6+ years on the tools preferred.
