Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Gilchrist County, Florida. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. You will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Six days a week, one day off.
