Tower crane operator — Mellette County

Join our team: we are hiring a tower crane operator in Mellette County, South Dakota. You will work at a shipbuilding yard. Ideal candidate: • Able to read load charts and lifting plans • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) • Strong attention to safety and load limits On the job you will handle: • Grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground • Keep every lift within the safe working load (SWL) Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
