Immediate opening: single needle operator (Indiana)

Now hiring: we are hiring a single needle operator in Harrison County, Indiana. The job is at a busy garment factory. Day-to-day duties: • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line Ideal candidate: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines 6+ years on the tools preferred.
