Gtaw welder — McHenry County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a gtaw welder in McHenry County, Illinois. On a typical shift you will strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges. Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Own basic hand tools and PPE At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. $160 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
