Die-casting operator — Iosco County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Iosco County, Michigan. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards The role involves: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
