Immediate opening: we are hiring a head baker in Buchanan County, Virginia. Day to day you will weigh and mix flour, yeast, water and salt to the day's recipe; shape loaves, rolls, baguettes and buns by hand; laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter; monitor oven temperature and baking time for each batch; pipe and fill cakes, pastries and cream rolls; roll out short-crust and biscuit dough. Ideal candidate: • Able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen • Familiar with deck, rack and convection ovens • 2+ years' experience as a baker Six days a week, one day off. $4,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
