Trowel-trade bricklayer • Lavaca County, Texas

Vacancy available: we are hiring a trowel-trade bricklayer in Lavaca County, Texas. You will be based on a scaffolded high-rise site. Day-to-day duties: • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge You should have: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. We offer $250 per day plus benefits. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
