Sewing machine operator — Saint Clair County

Join our team: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Saint Clair County, Michigan. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. Day to day you will operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift. Requirements: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
