Vacancy available: argon welder (Illinois)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an argon welder in Champaign County, Illinois. You will be based in a pharmaceutical piping facility. You should have: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight Your main tasks: • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
