Core maker — Nowata County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Nowata County, Oklahoma. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards On the job you will handle: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Overtime paid at a premium rate.
