Immediate opening: oven operator (Virginia)

Now hiring: we are hiring an oven operator in Amherst County, Virginia. You will work at a neighbourhood confectionery. Your main tasks: • Knead and develop dough by hand and in the spiral mixer • Monitor oven temperature and baking time for each batch • Rotate stock and follow FIFO on raw materials • Check finished products for colour, crumb and weight • Keep work surfaces and equipment clean to food-safety standards • Shape loaves, rolls, baguettes and buns by hand Ideal candidate: • Able to lift 25 kg flour sacks • Knowledge of dough fermentation and proving • Basic cake decorating and piping skills 3+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Walk-in interviews this week.
