Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry worker in Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ekiti State. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day-to-day duties: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
