Precision welder wanted in Appomattox County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a precision welder in Appomattox County, Virginia. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Your main tasks: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Overtime paid at a premium rate.
