Urgent requirement: we are hiring a furnace operator in Chilton County, Alabama. The job is on the moulding line. The role involves assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Full-time with occasional weekends.
