Single needle operator — East Renfrewshire

Now hiring: we are hiring a single needle operator in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. The job is on an export house sewing floor. On the job you will handle: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Full-time, day shift.
