Vacancy available: we are hiring a slinger signaller in Jay County, Indiana. The job is at a shipyard. What we are looking for: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Confident with standard crane hand signals On a typical shift you will guide loads through tight openings into their final position; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; read lift plans and method statements before starting; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use.
