You will set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour. You should have: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
