Machinist — Midlothian

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a machinist in Midlothian, Scotland. You will be based in a textile and apparel unit. Requirements: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently Day-to-day duties: • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line Rotating shifts.
