Smash repairer — Windham County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a smash repairer in Windham County, Vermont. The job is in a collision repair centre. Day-to-day duties: • MIG-weld and spot-weld new panels into place • Check alignment with measuring gauges after a structural pull • Replace damaged doors, wings, bonnets and bumpers • Straighten chassis and frames on a jig bench with pulling chains • Shrink stretched and oil-canned metal with a shrinking hammer • Knock out dents and creases using a panel hammer and dolly What we are looking for: • Physically fit for lifting panels, bending and kneeling • Trade certificate in auto body repair an advantage • Steady hand for filler work and block sanding Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
