Shakeout operator • Huron County, Michigan

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Huron County, Michigan. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal We offer $4,000 per month plus benefits.
