Immediate opening: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in St. Helens, England. You will work at a road and highway construction project. Day-to-day duties: • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Dig and trim drainage channels and attenuation ponds • Track the machine on and off low-loaders for transport • Grade, level and batter slopes to the required gradient • Load spoil into tippers and dumpers cleanly without spillage Requirements: • Confident working to fine grade and tight tolerances • Comfortable with GPS or laser machine control • Physically fit for long hours in the cab on outdoor sites Part-time with flexible hours.
