Immediate opening: we are hiring a sausage maker in Guernsey County, Ohio. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. Day-to-day duties: • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Season and marinate meat on request Requirements: • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Six days a week, one day off.
