Now hiring: we are hiring a general labourer in Jones County, Iowa. You will be based on a high-rise construction site. Your main tasks: • Clear debris and sweep the slab before the next pour • Cure freshly laid concrete by sprinkling water for several days • Pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator • Break out old walls and concrete with a jackhammer breaker • Bend and tie rebar with binding wire for slabs and columns • Hand tools and materials up to workers on the upper floors Ideal candidate: • Able to lift and carry heavy loads such as 50 kg cement bags all day • Physically fit and comfortable working at height • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker Six days a week, one day off.
