Vacancy available: elevator service technician (Virginia)

We are recruiting: we are hiring an elevator service technician in Charles City County, Virginia. You will be based in a machine room on the rooftop. On a typical shift you will wire up the controller, encoder and limit switches; set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear; install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway; measure rope tension and check for broken strands; fill in the service logbook and statutory inspection paperwork; top up the oil and bleed the cylinder on hydraulic lifts. Ideal candidate: • 2+ years on lift installation and maintenance • Sound electrical competence in three-phase and low-voltage wiring • Willing to join the on-call/emergency breakdown rota Pay around $3,300 per month, based on your experience. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
