Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry worker in Carroll County, Indiana. The job is at a busy iron foundry. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On a typical shift you will cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring.
