Die-casting operator — Johnson County

Now hiring: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Johnson County, Indiana. The job is on the moulding line. On the job you will handle: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Six days a week, one day off.
