Great opportunity: we are hiring a semi-automatic welder in Ford County, Illinois. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. On a typical shift you will weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; grind back and re-weld any defective runs; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch. Ideal candidate: • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Full-time, day shift.
