Pressman — Milton Keynes

Immediate opening: we are hiring a pressman in Milton Keynes, England. The job is in a tailoring workshop. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine On a typical shift you will spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching. At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
