Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Stonewall County, Texas. You will work at a renovation and extension job. What we are looking for: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding The role involves: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts Rotating shifts.
