Join our team: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Warren County, Georgia. The job is at a busy iron foundry. On a typical shift you will mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Meals and transport allowance provided.
