Brick mason — Franklin County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick mason in Franklin County, Kentucky. You will be based at a residential building site. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day Day to day you will raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge. Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
