Vacancy available: we are hiring a metal caster in Buchanan County, Virginia. You will be based on the moulding line. On the job you will handle: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Part-time with flexible hours. $3,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
