Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in El Dorado County, California. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling The role involves: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Rotating shifts.
