Urgent requirement: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Mower County, Minnesota. You will work at a busy retail butcher's shop. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling The role involves: • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
