You will tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads. Requirements: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
