Flatlock machine operator — Jefferson County

Now hiring: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in Jefferson County, Indiana. The job is at a knitwear stitching unit. The role involves: • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension You should have: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus 6+ years on the tools preferred.
