Backhoe operator — Lamoille County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a backhoe operator in Lamoille County, Vermont. You will work on a housing development site. The role involves dig and trim drainage channels and attenuation ponds; backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers; clear sites, demolish structures and load out muck and rubble; inspect tracks, bucket teeth and pins for wear before start-up; lift and place pipes, manholes and precast sections with the bucket and chains; dig foundation trenches and footings to the marked depths and levels. Requirements: • Sound understanding of daily maintenance and greasing • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones • Physically fit for long hours in the cab on outdoor sites Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
