Trainee butcher — Emmet County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Emmet County, Michigan. The job is in a meat processing plant. Day to day you will dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case. You should have: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
