Now hiring: we are hiring a garment presser in Worcester County, Massachusetts. You will work in a tailoring workshop. Day to day you will meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press. You should have: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment Full-time, day shift.
