Foundry operative — Knox County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry operative in Knox County, Missouri. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Day to day you will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
